Joseph Mwangi

Joseph Mwangi Nyambura,21, from Nairobi studied electrical wireman and solar installation at Ujuzi Institute of Career Development College, Nairobi campus, in 2023 and has experienced tremendous success in his career since then. Joseph is currently employed at Karen Plains Arcade as an electrical technician, where he has used the skills he learned and established precedents in their wiring and electrical works department. “I am grateful to CAP YEI for the training and SHOFCO for my sponsorship, my life has changed, and I am on a journey to a better, more promising future. Pamela Aoko

“A friend told me about Ujuzi Institute of Career Development and the courses offered. I looked at the courses and enrolled in the hospitality course. At the end of my six months of hands-on training, I was set with practical skills and knowledge to join the hospitality industry. In addition to the main hospitality training, I gained so much from the supplementary skills offered at the college such as life skills training, financial literacy, and basic ICT which have been a plus at my work. Lincoln Ngatia

Lincoln Ngatia from Kayole, Nairobi has made huge strides in his career journey and interest in IT, and after completing the course, he secured employment at Jovinna Print Hub in the Buruburu, Nairobi. “The practical sessions we did at the campus were detailed and equipped me with the tools and skills to grow and excel in my career. I’m particularly grateful for the guidance and mentorship from Mr. John Mumo, whose help has been instrumental in my growth.” Ngatia’s appreciation. As Ngatia continues to develop his skills and knowledge, he is hopeful for his future and his ability to contribute meaningfully to the field of web design. He aspires to open his web design firm in the future.

Martin Munyau

Martin Munyau, 21 years from Likon, Mombasa county pursued Graphic Design at Ujuzi Institute of Career Development. With a passion for Graphic Design, Martin was looking for a way to train in the course. Through SCHOFCO sponsorship he enrolled in the graphic design course at Ujuzi College. Martin took six months of training and upon completion, he secured employment at Joway Promotions in Mombasa as a web designer.“The skills and knowledge I gained from the Ujuzi Institute of Career Development have benefited me at my workplace as I have proficiency in editing software. I thank Ujuzi College for the knowledge and skills and a special thanks goes to my Graphic Designer trainer Mr. Martin for the mentorship and follow-up to make sure I’m well. Thank you.”

Martha Muhonja

Martha Muhonja is 33 years and she comes from South B, Nairobi. In 2023, Martha enrolled in the beauty and hairdressing course at the Ujuzi Institute of Career Development and then got employment at Dorcas Saloon in South B as a braider and hair therapist. Martha’s hands-on training at the college has enabled her expertise in this art, “I perfected the art of braiding through the practicals we had in class, bringing clients and working on their hair directly each week, made me quite good at braiding by the time I was leaving the college. This training has benefited me immensely, and I’m still growing in the field by applying all I learned and my experience in my everyday activities at work,” she says. “ The fact that I have a skill, and I can feed my family and dependents is one thing am thankful for, and will be forever indebted to Ujuzi for the training, and mentorship. I will open my salon soon!”

Henricah Triza

Triza Henricah, 20, from Nairobi County, enrolled for a hospitality course at Ujuzi Institute of Career Development and now works at Jam Rescue Hotel in Buru Buru as a purchasing officer for the hotel, where she is in charge of the procurement and stocktaking for the hotel and service department. “What a breakthrough!”  Triza says, “When I completed secondary school, clearly there were no plans in place until I joined Ujuzi College and enrolled for a hospitality course. This college is the bridge I needed to kickstart such as fulfilling career, and the skills I gained have made it easier for me to work in this sector. I gained skills while training, which is why am in this role, taking stock and keeping inventory are some of the skills I appreciate as part of my training. I look forward to growing in my career and focusing on being the best at what I do for the hotel. I am grateful to Ujuzi College for my journey. Thank you!”
